Author: Penton

When busker Charlie Cavey found out that people in Cambridge looks dull and boring on the street, he managed to come out with an idea which can make bring joys to others and earn money. He did that by squeezing himself in a metal litter bin with his guitar and singing with his guitar within it. Passers-by often stop and checking out where is the music from and created some laughings when he shows up from the bin.

Busker sings in a litter bin
Busker Charlie Cavey has carved out an unusual niche – singing from inside a rubbish bin.
Published: 7:30AM BST 06 May 2009
The 30-year-old singer plays his guitar whilst squeezed inside the tiny metal litter bin in Cambridge city centre.
At 5ft 9 he finds his job cramped and smelly but his singing style is proving a huge hit with passers-by.
Now the busker is set to perform his own form of trash metal at a busking festival.
He is one of 50 acts taking part in the four-day event in Cambridge to celebrate street performing.
“I saw a man empty a metal rubbish bin one day in the city centre and thought I could fit inside it,” said Charlie.
“I managed to squeeze myself in much to the amusement of all my mates.
“Then I learnt to play the guitar and a friend reminded me about the bin so I decided to combine the two.
Charlie said he always attracts crowds as people can’t work out where the songs are coming from.
“They can hear me but can’t see me so they always stop and try to work out where I am,” he said.
“They’re always shocked when they discover I’m in a bin, then they start getting their cameras out. It always makes people laugh.”
But he said singing in a bin does have its drawbacks.
“I get people throwing rubbish into the bin not realising I’m inside,” he said.
“I also find that I can only sing five songs before I have to get out and have a good stretch.”
The 2nd Cambridge Busking Festival which starts on Wednesday includes bands, break dancers, opera singers, a human statue and a mind reader.
They will be busking in 28 locations throughout the city centre – including punts.
Heather Bevan-Hunt, festival organiser, said: “The festival aims to celebrate all of the talent and culture we have in the city.
“There will be a diverse range of music and dance throughout the city centre, with street performers from all over the region taking part.”
Charlie added: “I think the festival is a great idea. There are always lots of people looking for something to make them smile.
“It’s fantastic that we will all be getting together and the city will be filled with music and art.

read comments (3)Nessie found on Google Earth
Author: Penton
On 27 August 2009, Jason Cooke, a security guard spotted “Nessie” (or plesiosaur, to be more specific) while browsing the website’s satellite photos. In this photo, there’s a white color 20 meter long creature, which appears to have an oval body, a tail and four legs or flippers. Plesiosaur – an aquatic reptile that appeared at the start of the Jurassic period. The animal is widely believed to be extinct.
Adrian Shine, a researcher on the Loch Ness project, called the new images ‘really intriguing’ and said they deserved further study. You can view the image on this URL.
The Loch Ness Monster is a creature believed to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It was brought to the world’s attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with minimal and much disputed photographic material and sonar readings, according to Wikipedia.
However, CNET’s writer Caroline McCarthy claimed that it’s could be some man made watercraft. Beside, if it’s really a seamonster, it should have surfaced earlier because Google Map has been supplying satellite maps to us for ages. You can read more HERE.
Nevertheless, this sighting had already created a world wide attentions.

Body Worlds – Style Exhibition of Corpses in Paris
Author: Penton
Paris is having a Body Worlds-style exhibition of corpses. I wouldn’t want to put any picture in my blog because it looks pretty gross for me.
In Thailand, similar exhibition had attracted 15,000 visitors. But, French Judge had given a court order to shut it down within 24 hours. If this is the case, why would them allow such exhibition to be launched at the first place? Is that because of corruption (like the Najis government)?
For those who has a brave heart and strong stomach, please visit HERE to see the picture yourself. Enjoy!

First Vegetarian Cat in the World!!
Author: Penton
Have you ever heard of cat refused to eat fish and chicken but prefer to eat vegetable instead? It even refused tinned cat food!! What a cat!
Extracted from: http://www.upi.com
TASBURGH, England, April 13 (UPI) — A British woman said a cat she rescued from an alleyway two years ago may be the world’s first vegetarian cat.
Becky Page, 21, of Tasburgh, England, said the cat, Dante, refused the bowls of chicken and fish that she put out after bringing him home but he was enticed to eat by a plate of leftover vegetables, the Daily Mail reported Monday.
Page said the cat has continued to refuse tinned cat food and has subsided on a diet of fruits and vegetables that she grows herself.
“Since he had that first plate of veg, he won’t go near anything fatty and prefers the things I grow in the garden,” she said.
Multiple cat experts said they had never heard of a feline refusing meat for a vegetarian diet.
“This is extremely rare, I have never before heard of a cat that will not eat meat,” said Maggie Roberts, director of veterinary services for the Cats Protection charity. “We advise that cats be fed a complete cat food, which provides all of the necessary nutrients in the right balance.”
