China Mobile to pump $10 bln into rural networks – New Opportunity for SMS Content Providers?
China Mobile is going to spend 70 billion yuan to develop China’s telecommunications networks in rural areas. This is mainly because Beijing is rolling out a programme to subsidise farmers to buy electronic products in a bid to boost consumption amid the economic downturn. This move is believe to be able to generate significant profits to China Mobile.
In my opinion, perhaps it will open up the market for SMS content providers as well. After the upgrade / development of the networks, it would be easier for residents in rural areas to download games, songs, etc . Would you be interested to be a content providers?

Fortumo is indeed an interesting biz model. Combine the mobile with web and run the traditional tool in the web 2.0 format. I hope their strategy is working.
